Swim with the Smelts
Today Liz came and helped me at my office because my patient care coordinator had to take the afternoon off. This means I was able to closely stay on schedule and finish relatively on time. After my last patient left, Liz decided to head to swim practice and gave me two options: Come back and get me in 90 minutes or wait for her at the pool. I looked at the stack of papers and charts to fill out, grabbed my WIRED magazine and headed to the pool with her.
I now know I made the right decision. Not only did I get to read about the latest gadgets, but I got to see my wife swim 2200 yards with just 11 days before her due date. She looks terrific and I am so proud of her. Especially to see how happy it makes her to swim even just a little bit and not have to give up her "hobbies" due to her pregnancy. In addition, it made me look like a good guy. Liz was glad I came and everyone else thought I was there in case her water broke. Little did they know I was just procrastinating from doing work and trying to catch up on cyber culture.
